REVIEW: Although this paper is from the early days of Behavioral
Synthesis (1995), the authors do a good job of illustrating the issues
users will face when adopting Behavioral Synthesis into their normal,
day-to-day design activities. By adhering to some basic design
guidelines, the authors forecast simplified design and ease of
verification.
While the article is dry and sterile (a classic DAC paper), it is a
worthwhile read for anyone considering Behavioral Synthesis
(especially Synopsys' Behavioral Compiler). This paper also won the
Best Paper Award at the 1995 DAC. |
