Prelab Questions

  1. Design a minimal Moore machine that identifies the sequence 010101 on a single input, the sequences to be observed may overlap.
  2. Design a minimal Mealy machine to do the same thing.

Experiments

  1. Build a digital oscillator with your favorite R and C values and demonstrate its operation to your TA.
  2. Build a machine (Mealy or Moore) that will output a "one" when the sequence 10010 is input (the sequences can overlap). Demonstrate the circuit to your TA.
  3. Build a circuit that will output the sequence 10010 and hook it up to the previous circuit. Use your oscillator as the clock and show the combination to your TA.
